Default UserAgent of Sidekick Slide (and LX)

Hello all!

I searched the web but I didn’t found the UserAgent string of Sidekick Slide and Sidekick LX. I would be very pleased if you could help me and publish this data here.

If you are a user of such a device and you don’t know the UserAgent you are able to help me by visiting http://ks.mobilziel.de/info.php - the page will show you the String of your Danger-mobile.

Thank you very much,
Jens

I just want to know this data because I want to provide mobile websites in a proper way to several mobile devices. For example a websites contains an image: a Sidekick II (240x160 pixel display) will receive a smaller picture than a Sidekick Slide (320x240 pixel display) because the server than knows that there are different display sizes.

A Hiptop I / Sidekick I and a Non-updated Sidekick II reveal this to the server:
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; AvantGo 3.2; ProxiNet; Danger hiptop 1.0)

My Sidekick II shows this string:
Mozilla/5.0 (Danger hiptop 2.0; U; AvantGo 3.2)

Maybe Danger is counting this part: Danger hiptop 2.0

Danger hiptop 2.0 for SK II !
Danger hiptop 3.0 for SK III ???
Danger hiptop 4.0 for ...

But I don’t know this and therefore I’m asking here.

Jens

I'll switch back to my sidekick 3 and grab all the info you need.
*edit*
Everything is pretty much the same besides a slight numeric change as you predicted.

Thank you very much for your help. I now have also checked my log-files and noticed that there was no device with hiptop 4.4 until yet but a useragent Mozilla/5.0 (Danger hiptop 3.4; U; AvantGo 3.2).

Thank you too for the display resolutions! For Slide & LX I always read a height of 240 pixels. Is 208 the the real hardware resolution or the resulting height (240 minus statusbar)? I thought Motorola is using a real QVGA display (320x240) for their Slide.

With best regards, Jens

Your correct the resolution is 320x240. I said 320x208 because that's all you see with the title bar shown. The same goes for the LX with 400x240 to 400x208 :)
