Default Received OTA Update then lost bookmarks

So, as soon as I powered on my LX09 at lunchtime, I got prompted to install the OTA update. I installed it w/o any problems. But when my Sidekick restarted after the
OTA update, my bookmarks were gone!

I'm sorry, but this is unacceptable. I install an update TMO rolls out to me, and lose my bookmarks? I've done 2 soft resets since to see if the bookmarks would return, but to no avail.

Can Appletech or one of the other admins/mods tell me if I can get these bookmarks back? Thanks.

Wow, that's terrible.

My SK reset on its own over a week ago and I too lost my bookmarks (along with other items).

TMO claimed the upcoming OTA would fix it. I haven't received the OTA yet, but from all descriptions of it, it will not bring back the lost data.

Appletech and other mods on here never seem to comment when asked about lost bookmarks, etc. And TMO simply lies to use.

I got the OTA update but it didn't do anything. It was equal to powering my device on & off.
Didn't the update state we were supposed to get our pictures & catalog back with the OTA update?

Default OTA update

Yes, I do believe we were supposed to get the catalog back. I called T-mobile Customer Care this evening to tell them about me losing my bookmarks after receiving the OTA update today. And, the representative asked me if by any chance my catalog had come back after the update. I told him no and he said "Ummmm..that's weird." So that definitely led me to believe the catalog was supposed to come back.

I got my OTA update today also, but I haven't noticed anything different. Still no notes, bookmarks, catalog, etc... So I'm not quite sure what this update was all about.

Nope! the OTAU wasn't going to make any changes to our device. The OTAU was to make the backend service more stable/safer whatever you wanna call it.

OP, its terrible that it happened to you after the OTAU reset.
Don't even know what to tell you.
Sucks!

i feel your pain OP. i was one of the lucky few not affected by the data outage last month. my fiancee lost all her stuff, but i was unaffected. i installed the OTA today, and lost all my bookmarks, but nothing else. im pretty unhappy but looking at everyone else who lost everything i guess i cant complain. im thinking about moving over to verizon for the droid anyway!

Default Bookmarks

Wow...so you lost your bookmarks too after the OTA update? That is absolutely ridiculous. Tmobile/Danger/Microsoft roll out an OTA update that leaves our Sidekicks in worse shape than they were before the update.

Like you, I was minimally affected by last month's outage. I never lost my contacts, bookmarks, etc. However, I did lose my saved emails under my AOL and Gmail tabs. I'm still hoping to get those back.

But I was really angry after intalling the OTA yesterday and losing my bookmarks.

And I had two T-Mobile representatives tell me two different things. Yesterday when I called Customer Care to complain about losing my bookmarks, the first Tmobile rep I spoke with had me just turn off my LX09 the regular way. He did something on his end and said my bookmarks should come back within the next two hours. When that did not happen, I called back, spoke to another rep, and he said I probably won't get my bookmarks back until after the Catalog has been restored, since they are chaning the default search engine to Bing. I asked him what did the Catalog being out of service have to do with my bookmarks? Also, after the OTA yesterday I lost my account on my Mobile Journal. I have the Mobile Journal application from the Catatlog on my Sidekick, and it seemed to wipe out my Mobile Journal account, so now I don't have my Mobile Journal entries. It also wiped out my Newsroom feeds.
