Phone wont read my SIM?

I have been having connection problems non-stop since late october. Half the time my phone doesn't have a G, even in my own house where I've been getting a G all the time prior to october. Even my brothers phone has a G when mine doesn't. I've had the two phones (both sidekick 08's) next to eachother in my room, his had a G, mine didn't.

So anyways, I started just doing random stuff to it to try to get it to work. Hard Resets, Soft Resets, Taking the battery out, Removing the SIM. None of that worked.

The last thing I tried was to turn off my phone, remove the battery and the sim, then put it back in and turn it on. When it turned on it said I didn't have my SIM in it, when I clearly do...My phone has been flashing between and since.

How do I get it to read my SIM? Even when I go to Menu- Settings - System Info it says 'Not Availiable' under Username and Phone Number...so I'm not even logged in.

HELP?

Problem solved...connection still sucks though.

actually i see you have the sk08. so it can be that your sim card or your sim card slot is going bad.
it happened to me. bad reception shouldnt show the sim icon.
when my sim card slot was going out my sk was doing the same as yours. getting spotty reception.
