Micro SD card stop working?

ever since the outage my micro sd card doesnt work anymore. every time i power on my kick it says does not read memory card. i have tired re formating on my kick. doesnt work. tired reformat it on my laptop doesnt work. what should i do? i thought about doing a soft reset but i dunno if it will fix the problem.

Buy a new memory card and see if that works. A memory card can't be that expensive. That would be my advice.

It's convenient to blame the outage for your memory card dieing, but that's not the case. The outage had nothing to do with your memory card issues, the memory card does not rely on the service at all, and based on your post it sounds like your memory card simply died. Formatting doesn't help, device can't read it. Like the guy above me said, buy a new memory card.

but how can a memory card die? when there hardly anything on it? thats what baffles me.

How can it die? Memory is volatile, it's no where near 100% dependable, memory cells die, and it's possible you got a generic or low quality memory card, in which case it probably has a 50% chance of dieing at any time. Having data on your memory card is irrelevant when it comes to memory going bad, you can have it full or have nothing on it, and if it's bad, it's bad.

If your device can't read the card, and you can't format it, seems logical the issue is a bad memory card, good luck.

I agree. And every time you move it, touch it, put it in, take it out...you increase the chance of it being damaged somehow.

hmmm thanks for all the feedback i really dont know to much about memory cards in general so i didnt know they can damage that easily. i guess i'll have to go the store and buy a new one. any good ones i should look out for?

Brand names when it comes to memory is usually a good policy. Sandisk is a solid choice and dependable. Just remember, you get what you pay for. So buying a brand name for memory is worth it for a few extra dollars in my opinion over a generic.
